Highlights of the 2022-23 Budget: with a vision to improve the status of the middle class by increasing the country's economic pace

Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced the annual budget for the fiscal year 2022-2023 intending to lay the foundation of economic growth amid the ongoing COVID - 19 pandemic and rising inflation with an expected growth rate of 9.27% this year.

Her speech began with 'Amrit kal- the next 25 years of the country taking India to 100 from India at 75. The major focus of the budget is on capital expenditure which is rising to 35% this year.

She also announced an extra Rs 19,500 crore for PLI to manufacture high-efficiency modules in order to encourage local production in order to meet the ambitious goal of 280 GW of installed solar power by 2030. In FY23, according to the Economic Survey issued on Monday, January 31st, growth would range between 8% to 8.5 percent.
