Ola restarts electric scooter sale, booking on the app only

"The purchase of the Ola S1 is now available! We're doing it in order of reservation. To find out when it's live for you, look for your invitation email or check the Ola app!" On Tuesday, CEO Bhavish Aggarwal sent out a tweet.

Buyers are prioritized by the company based on their reservation dates. Email, text messages, and app notifications are used to notify these customers about their purchase window. After the purchasing window opens, they can purchase the scooter at any moment.

“An upfront payment of Rs 20,000 is required for S1 and S1 Pro. According to a corporate statement posted on Wednesday, “no other payment is required at this time.”

New Ola electric scooter bookings are also available for Rs 499 on the app. Colourways and variants are available for purchase. In October 2021, deliveries will start.

The sale of Ola electric scooters began online last week, with over 100,000 bookings on the first day, but the website quickly ran into technical troubles, prompting the ride-hailing service to suspend taking reservations.

Buyers who went to the website to buy the scooters were given prices that were greater than what Ola had stated. Several of them turned to Twitter to publish screenshots demonstrating the pricing disparity, and a couple even considered cancelling their reservations.

After then, CEO Aggarwal apologized for the problems that buyers were having on Twitter.

“We've created a totally digital purchase path, complete with a fully digital lending process that doesn't require any papers. We hoped to offer this first-of-its-kind digital buying adventure, but we haven't been allowed to do so as of today,” he had tweeted at the time.

He also stated that the company will begin enabling consumers to purchase vehicles on September 15 at 8:00 a.m. and that the position of persons in the vehicle purchase queue would stay unchanged.
