Breaking Barriers in Scientific Publishing: The Story of Arashi Scientific Publishers

"Arashi Scientific Publishers: Bridging regional languages and global science, making research accessible, inclusive, and impactful for all researchers."

In a world where scientific research often feels confined to elite institutions and high-cost publishing platforms, Dr. Hikku G S and his team at Arashi Scientific Publishers Private Limited (ASP) are on a mission to democratize knowledge. Founded with a vision to make pioneering research accessible to all, ASP is not just another scientific publishing house—it’s a movement to uphold linguistic identity, reduce financial constraints, and preserve the integrity of scientific discourse.

The Founder’s Journey: From Nanotechnology to Entrepreneurship

Dr. Hikku G S, the driving force behind ASP, holds a Ph.D. in Nanoscience and Technology from Anna University. With over 50 scientific publications, six patents, and research funding from prestigious organizations like DRDO and DBT, he has always been at the forefront of innovation.

His role as Vice President of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) at Chettinad Academy of Research and Education sparked his entrepreneurial spirit.

“Mentoring young researchers made me realize the challenges they face in publishing their work. I wanted to create a platform that not only addresses these challenges but also celebrates regional contributions to global science,”
— Dr. Hikku G S

With support from Mr. Rohit J (key supporter), Mr. Sanu S (operations), Mr. Manikantan M (initial funding), and Ms. Hima G S (financial backing), ASP was born.

A Publishing Platform with a Purpose

ASP was created to fill a crucial gap in the scientific publishing market. Many researchers, especially from smaller institutions, face high publication fees, lengthy peer-review processes, and limited visibility.

Key initiatives include:

  • Translating article abstracts into Tamil to make research accessible to regional communities.
  • Waiving Article Processing Charges (APCs) until June 2026, ensuring financial constraints don’t hinder the dissemination of valuable research.

“This isn’t just about publishing research; it’s about breaking down barriers and fostering pride in regional contributions to global science.”
— Dr. Hikku G S

Arashi Research Lens: A New Wave in Spotlighting Global Research

To amplify research visibility, ASP launched Arashi Research Lens, a platform showcasing revolutionary global research.

Additionally, Arashi Research Lens – தமிழ் breaks linguistic barriers by presenting global research in Tamil, inspiring the next generation to imagine, innovate, and build a sustainable future.

Overcoming Challenges: Lessons in Resilience

Like any startup, ASP faced challenges:

  • Early missteps in resource allocation.
  • Building credibility in a competitive market.

Through a strong peer-review process and timely publications, ASP earned trust.

Key team members who shaped this journey include: Ms. Ramya Sri Anumolu, Ms. Madhu Mitha S., Ms. Priya, Ms. Yasotha Punitha Malar, Dr. Udyama Juttada, and Ms. Aishwarya Sentil.

Milestones and Breakthroughs

The Road Ahead: A Global Vision with Regional Roots

ASP plans to:

  • Expand regional language initiatives.
  • Achieve global indexing recognition.
  • Host the Advanced Global Summit on Applied Materials 2025 (AGSAM 2025), a flagship virtual event fostering international collaborations.

Advice for Aspiring Entrepreneurs

“Start with a clear vision, but be willing to grow through challenges. Surround yourself with those who support your mission and never hesitate to seek help when needed. Every setback is an opportunity to learn and grow.”
— Dr. Hikku G S

Conclusion: A Vision for the Future

Arashi Scientific Publishers is more than just a startup—it is a symbol of resilience, collaboration, and inclusivity in science.

“Our journey is just beginning, but we’re committed to making a lasting impact. Together, we can create a world where knowledge knows no boundaries.”
