No Mobile, No Charge: How CookLeads Is Rethinking B2B Contact Data for Sales Teams
CookLeads is rethinking B2B contact data with its "No Mobile, No Charge" model, LinkedIn discovery tools, and a 7-stage verification pipeline.
Every B2B sales team knows the frustration: you've purchased contact data, loaded your prospect list, and your sales development representative is halfway through a calling session when they discover that some numbers are landlines, disconnected, or no longer belong to the person they're trying to reach.
The result? Wasted time, wasted credits, and fewer meaningful conversations.
For sales teams, the value of a contact database is not simply how many records it contains. It is whether those records help them reach the right people.
CookLeads was built around this problem. Founded in October 2023 by Nazim Khan and his co-founders, the platform focuses on helping sales and business development teams discover and enrich B2B contacts, with particular attention to mobile-number availability and Indian company research.
Its core promise is simple: "No Mobile, No Charge."
Here's how CookLeads approaches contact discovery, verification, team collaboration, and data access.
1. No Mobile, No Charge
For sales teams, finding an email address is not always enough. When the goal is to make a direct sales call, a valid mobile number can be particularly valuable.
CookLeads charges credits when it delivers a valid mobile number. If the result contains an email address but no valid mobile number, the customer is not charged credits for that result.
If a delivered mobile number is later found to be invalid, customers can report it through the dashboard's "Report Invalid" feature. Eligible credit refunds are subject to a cap of 10% of the credits purchased within the applicable rolling 12-month period.
The cap is calculated using the total purchased credits and total refunded credits during the trailing 365 days. Subscription, top-up, and Pay-As-You-Go purchases are included.
For example, if a customer purchases 250 subscription credits and another 50 credits through top-ups or Pay-As-You-Go within the same rolling period, the total purchased credits are 300. The 10% refund cap would be 30 credits, less any refunds already counted within that period.
This policy is designed to align the credit charge with the value the customer is seeking: a valid mobile number, rather than an email-only result.
2. Shared Contacts for Teams
Sales teams often work on overlapping account lists. Multiple representatives may research the same company or decision-maker, creating a risk of duplicated effort and repeated credit usage.
CookLeads includes a shared contact pool for the owner organization. When a contact is unlocked, it becomes available to the organization's team members, helping teams avoid paying repeatedly to access the same contact.
This shared-workspace approach is especially relevant for teams where multiple representatives prospect into the same accounts or industries.
The organization owner retains access to its contacts even after the subscription expires, as long as the owner account remains available. Joined member accounts do not independently retain access to the organization's contacts after losing access to the workspace.
3. Discover Contacts Through LinkedIn and Indian Company Registries
LinkedIn is an important source of professional information for B2B prospecting. CookLeads provides a Chrome extension that works with LinkedIn profiles and Sales Navigator workflows, allowing users to discover contact information without manually copying profile details into another tool.
Users can also use the extension for supported Indian company-registry websites, including:
- ZaubaCorp
- Tofler
- InstaFinancials
- TheCompanyCheck
- FileSure
- Falconebiz
This can be useful when researching directors or decision-makers associated with Indian companies, including people whose professional information may not be readily available through LinkedIn.
CookLeads also offers dashboard-based lookup workflows. Users can submit a LinkedIn profile URL or a Director Identification Number (DIN) to search for contact information.
For larger prospecting projects, the platform supports bulk workflows that allow users to upload lists of names or LinkedIn URLs and process contacts in batches.
CookLeads states that its database contains more than 500 million contacts across over 100 countries. The platform's focus is on combining contact discovery with checks intended to help customers assess the usefulness of the data they receive.
4. Flexible Credit and Subscription Options
Different teams have different prospecting volumes and purchasing needs. Some may need contact data occasionally, while others run ongoing outbound campaigns.
CookLeads offers Pay-As-You-Go credits as well as monthly and yearly subscription options.
Pay-As-You-Go can suit customers who prefer to purchase credits without a recurring subscription. Monthly and yearly plans provide subscription-based options for teams with more regular requirements.
CookLeads also offers five free credits for users to try the platform before purchasing.
Customers should review the current pricing page for the latest plan features, credit terms, and applicable conditions.
5. Data Chef: Human-Assisted Contact Research
Automated tools may not find every contact a sales team is looking for. A decision-maker may have a limited digital footprint, an incomplete online profile, or information that is difficult to identify through automated matching alone.
CookLeads offers a human-assisted research service called Data Cheffor customers who need help finding specific contacts.
Through this service, a researcher can use internal tools and sources to investigate a requested contact. The service is intended to help customers pursue high-priority prospects when an automated search does not provide the information they need.
Human-assisted research complements the platform's automated workflows; it does not mean every contact in the standard database is individually researched by a person.
6. Export and CRM Sync Without a Separate CookLeads Export Charge
Finding contact data is only one part of a sales workflow. Teams also need to move that information into their CRM or other systems.
CookLeads makes contact export and CRM sync available across its plans without imposing a separate CookLeads export charge. Any applicable rate limits are determined by the third-party CRM and the customer's plan with that provider.
This allows teams to incorporate discovered contacts into their existing sales processes without a separate CookLeads export fee.
7. A Seven-Stage Contact Verification Pipeline
Contact data can become outdated, contain duplicates, or include information that is incomplete or incorrect. CookLeads uses a seven-stage workflow to process contacts before delivery.
The seven stages
1. Source Extraction
Contact information is extracted from the relevant sources.
2. Syntax & Fake Scrubbing
Records are checked for syntax issues and fake or invalid entries.
3. Deduplication Engine
The system identifies duplicate records.
4. Live SMTP Ping Verification
Email addresses undergo live SMTP verification.
5. Catch-all & Honeypot Evasion
The workflow checks for catch-all and honeypot-related email risks.
6. Cross-Reference Context
Contact information is cross-referenced with contextual information to help assess its relevance and accuracy.
7. Bespoke Human Audit
Contacts flagged by automated checks are routed for human review.
Every contact passes through all seven stages of the pipeline. However, only contacts flagged by automated checks are sent to a researcher for human review.
Researchers use internal tools and sources to assess flagged contacts before delivery. They may approve a contact if it passes manual checks or exclude it if it cannot be verified.
The purpose of the workflow is to apply multiple checks to contact data and identify records that require additional scrutiny. No verification process can guarantee that every contact detail will remain accurate indefinitely, so customers should continue to validate contact information as part of their own prospecting process.
8. Information Security and Privacy
CookLeads states that it is ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certified. The company also references GDPR, CCPA, and India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act in connection with its privacy and data-handling practices.
Organizations evaluating a data provider should review its privacy policy, terms, and applicable documentation to understand how personal information is collected, processed, and handled.
