“I’ve always believed in the power of independent practice over a traditional job setup,” she shares. “Starting my own firm allowed me to offer meaningful legal services—even on a pro bono basis—to those genuinely in need.”
This powerful sense of mission, combined with a stellar academic pedigree—including a B.A.LL.B. from Lloyd Law College, an LL.M. in Intellectual Property Rights from Amity University, and a Ph.D. in progress at Jamia Hamdard—has placed Iram in a unique position to drive change in the legal landscape.
The idea to start Iram & Associates wasn’t born from opportunity—it was born from experience. Having witnessed firsthand the impact of toxic workplaces and inaccessible legal counsel, Iram was determined to create something different.
“I wanted to build a space where professionalism and compassion coexist,” she explains. “Where both clients and colleagues could thrive without fear, bias, or bureaucracy.”
This vision became the foundation for her firm. It would focus equally on startups, intellectual property, and sensitive litigation involving matrimonial disputes and the rights of women and children.
While working with emerging ventures, Iram noticed a gaping hole in the legal ecosystem. Early-stage founders often lacked access to tailored legal support. Most law firms weren’t structured to serve the agile, evolving needs of startups or to offer cost-effective solutions.
“Many entrepreneurs struggle to find advisors who truly understand the hurdles of starting a business,” she notes. “At the same time, individuals involved in personal legal battles often lack empathetic yet strategic representation.”
Recognizing this dual gap, she positioned Iram & Associates as a boutique yet comprehensive legal partner. From entity formation and contract drafting to trademark registration and regulatory compliance, her firm offers 360-degree startup support. Starting a legal firm as a first-generation lawyer came with its fair share of roadblocks.
“I had no inherited network or industry connections,” Iram candidly shares. “Establishing credibility from scratch in a male-dominated profession meant I had to prove myself twice over.”
Instead of being daunted, she met the challenge head-on with relentless perseverance and a steadfast belief in her vision. Through strategic outreach, consistently high-quality work, and a client-first approach, Iram began to build a name for herself.
“I chose to turn every moment of doubt into motivation,” she says. “And slowly, I carved my own space in the legal industry.”
While every win along the journey mattered, Iram recalls a pivotal moment that transformed the trajectory of her firm: transitioning from one-time consultations to long-term legal partnerships with startups.
“It was a real breakthrough,” she explains. “These founders weren’t just clients. They became collaborators who trusted us with their vision and growth.”
Another key milestone was her expansion into matrimonial and child rights litigation, a space she always felt drawn to for its emotional and societal stakes.
“My compassionate, client-first approach really resonated in those cases,” she reflects. “That’s when I realized how deeply legal work can impact lives, not just businesses.”
So what makes Iram & Associates different from traditional law firms?

“I want to build a team that’s not just legally sound, but ethically grounded,” she says.
She’s also passionate about launching a dedicated pro bono and legal aid wing, along with conducting nationwide legal awareness workshops, especially for startups, women, and marginalized communities.
In 2024, Iram was honored with the Youngest Women Leadership Award at an international conference held at Amity University, Noida—an accolade that validated her hard work and pioneering approach in the legal field.
But for her, the real reward lies in the trust she builds with clients, the change she brings to people’s lives, and the opportunity to mentor young legal professionals.
When asked what advice she’d offer to those starting out, Iram doesn’t hesitate:
“Start with a clear purpose. You don’t need to have all the answers on Day 1, but you do need conviction,” she says. “And remember, building something meaningful takes time. Stay consistent, be ethical, and believe in your vision even when no one else does.”
