Empowering Women, One Voice at a Time: How Soumya Natarajan is Revolutionizing Career Readiness with Unnathi Career Solutions
Empowering women through purpose-driven coaching, Soumya Natarajan founded Unnathi Career Solutions to bridge the soft skills gap for women across India. From free training to personalized guidance, she's transforming fear into confidence—one voice, one woman, one future at a time.
The Call to Empower
“Every woman deserves to feel seen, heard, and equipped to succeed,” says Soumya Natarajan, founder of Unnathi Career Solutions, her voice clear with conviction and purpose. It’s a belief born not from theory, but from years spent in classrooms and training halls, where she saw firsthand the quiet, often invisible barriers keeping countless women from reaching their full potential.
Armed with an impressive academic background—B.Com, M.Com, MBA, and a KSET qualification—Soumya spent over a decade honing her craft as a soft skills trainer, communication coach, and career readiness expert. But it was her passion for empowering womenthrough real, transformative change that ultimately led her to take the entrepreneurial leap.
“I started Unnathi Career Solutions because I saw how a lack of access to soft skills training and proper career guidance held back many talented and capable women,” she shares. “I wanted to bridge that gap.”
From Educator to Entrepreneur
Soumya’s journey began in the world of education, teaching commerce and management subjects across reputed institutions in Karnataka and across India. But her most rewarding work often took place outside the classroom—in the workshops she led on public speaking, grooming, communication, and corporate etiquette, where she saw shy students blossom into confident professionals.
“I realized that despite having degrees, many women struggled with things like public speaking or English fluency,” she says. “That directly affected their chances in interviews and workplaces.”
Motivated by these experiences—and by her desire to make a deeper societal impact—Soumya launched Unnathi Career Solutions, a platform offering free soft skills training, communicative English programs, career counseling, and mock interview sessions, all geared toward empowering women from diverse and underserved backgrounds.
Spotlighting the Gaps
Unnathi Career Solutions was born out of a keen awareness of several systemic gaps that Soumya saw repeatedly:
Access and Affordability: Many women, especially in smaller towns or low-income households, simply couldn’t afford quality training.
Lack of Career Guidance: Young women were often pushed into careers without real understanding of their options.
Confidence Barriers: Fear of speaking up, especially in English, held many back despite their academic capabilities.
Gender Bias and Mentorship Gaps: Few resources existed to help women navigate professional environments, especially those with gendered challenges.
What made Unnathi different was not just the curriculum, but the compassionate and personalized delivery. “We don’t do cookie-cutter solutions. Every session is activity-based, interactive, and designed to meet the learner where she is,” Soumya explains.
A Trust-Building Journey
Starting a venture that offered everything for freewas not without its hurdles.
“There was skepticism,” Soumya admits. “People wondered—what’s the catch?”
But she persisted, leaning on word-of-mouth referrals, partnerships with institutions, and her own credibility as an award-winning educator—the Best Educator Award by the Bangalore Women Brand Awards being a standout recognition.
She focused on delivering value consistently. Her Campus to Corporate Readiness program, one-on-one coaching, and customized mock interviews began generating real success stories. Women who once trembled at the thought of interviews were landing jobs. Students were communicating with newfound confidence. The impact was tangible—and it began to spread.
A Defining Moment
The real breakthrough came when Unnathi Career Solutions’ sessions started to spark transformative feedback.
“I remember one woman told me, ‘For the first time, I believe I can speak for myself in an interview.’ That moment stays with me,” Soumya recalls.
That feedback wasn’t just validation—it became the foundation for a movement. As demand grew, Soumya began integrating more personal coaching and individualized career counseling, further distinguishing Unnathi from other platforms.
Vision for the Future
Today, Soumya isn’t slowing down. Her plans for Unnathi Career Solutions are ambitious and expansive. Over the next five years, she envisions:
A robust online platform offering interactive, self-paced learning.
Specialized modules tailored to specific industries and professional roles.
Collaborations with NGOs, educational institutions, and corporations to scale the mission.
Creating a global support network of empowered women who uplift each other.
“Ultimately, I see Unnathi Career Solutions becoming a trusted brand that champions women’s personal and professional growth,” she affirms.
Lessons for Aspiring Entrepreneurs
Soumya’s journey offers rich takeaways for budding founders:
Start with Purpose: Her mission to empower women wasn't a business strategy—it was a personal calling.
Build Trust Through Value: Offering free services required her to deliver consistent, high-impact sessions to gain credibility.
Use Your Strengths: With a strong background in education and training, she knew how to teach. She turned that into a sustainable, impactful offering.
Persistence is Key: Whether managing limited resources or overcoming skepticism, she moved forward with unwavering commitment.
“Passion and purpose kept me going even when resources were tight,” she reflects.
