The Spark Behind the Mission
When Arushika Srivastava was just a child, she watched someone she loved suffer in silence—her mother. Misunderstood, misdiagnosed, and without adequate support, her mother’s emotional pain lingered until, at last, a compassionate psychiatrist changed everything. That moment didn’t just begin a healing journey for her family; it lit a fire in Arushika’s heart with a lifelong purpose to ensure no one else endures their struggles in silence.
“Witnessing my mother’s journey was the turning point,” Arushika shares. “That one experience made me promise myself: I would help others feel seen, heard, and supported in their darkest times.”
Today, that promise has evolved into Meet Your Therapist, a mental health startup focused on making therapy affordable, accessible, and stigma-free—particularly for India’s underserved communities.
A Strong Foundation in Psychology and Empathy
Arushika’s path was never one of mere professional interest—it was deeply personal. That intimate understanding of emotional suffering gave her the empathy and drive to pursue rigorous academic training. She holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Psychology, along with a Postgraduate Diploma in Rehabilitation Psychology recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
Her hands-on experience is just as impressive. Arushika has worked with a wide demographic including children, adolescents, adults, and families using a blend of therapeutic techniques tailored to each client’s needs. Her approach is integrative, drawing from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Relaxation Techniques, and Behavioural Interventions.
“I believe healing isn’t one-size-fits-all,” she explains. “It’s about meeting people where they are and walking with them at their pace.”
Addressing a Glaring Gap in Mental Health Care
The vision for Meet Your Therapist was born out of a sobering realization. Despite a growing need for mental health support, access remains limited—both financially and geographically.
“I saw how many people either couldn’t afford therapy or didn’t know where to begin. The stigma alone kept countless individuals from seeking help,” Arushika says.
But she didn’t just observe these gaps—she set out to fix them.
Meet Your Therapist provides counselling sessions at affordable prices, making therapy financially accessible without compromising on quality. The platform also offers affordable psychotherapy and psychodiagnostic assessments, all delivered by qualified professionals committed to compassionate care.
“We are not just offering services. We’re creating safe spaces,” Arushika emphasizes. “For so many of our clients, this is the first time they’ve felt heard. That’s powerful.”

Breaking Barriers, Building Trust
Like any startup founder, Arushika faced her share of hurdles. Yet when asked about challenges, she chooses to focus on impact over obstacles.
“The biggest turning point wasn’t about funding or scaling. It was about feedback,” she says.
It was the words of her clients that served as the true milestone.
“We began receiving heartfelt messages from people saying, ‘I never thought I could afford therapy before,’ or ‘Thank you for seeing me.’ That emotional connection, that validation, is what told me we were on the right path.”
These moments weren’t just affirmations. They were proof that the startup was closing a critical gap in India’s mental health ecosystem.
More Than a Business, a Movement
Arushika doesn’t see Meet Your Therapist as just a company. For her, it’s a movement to democratize mental health. The long-term vision is to reshape how society views emotional wellness—and to make therapy not a privilege, but a basic right.
“In five years, I see us having a national presence, with more therapists, more languages, and more partnerships with schools, workplaces, and community centers,” she says. “But more than scale, I want to ensure that the essence remains compassion, accessibility, and trust.”
Her mission is ambitious, but her conviction is unwavering.
“Mental health is not a luxury. It’s fundamental. And I’ll keep pushing until that truth becomes universal.”
The journey hasn’t been a solo one. Arushika is supported by a small but dedicated team:
Ms. Saashrika, a psychology student, has been part of the venture since its inception and currently manages the social media platforms.
Ms. Pranavi, a consultant psychologist, works closely with her to continuously enhance the services.
Her husband has always been a strong pillar of support in the growth and development of her ventures, providing both emotional strength and unwavering encouragement behind the scenes.
Advice for Aspiring Founders
For entrepreneurs navigating their own journeys—especially in the social impact or healthcare spaces—Arushika offers grounded advice:
Lead with Purpose
“Start with a cause that fuels you emotionally. That passion will be your compass.”
Listen First
“Your users will teach you more than any business course. Their feedback is your North Star.”
Stay Human
“Don’t lose sight of the people behind the problem you’re solving. It’s not just about scale. It’s about empathy.”
She also stresses the importance of mental health for founders themselves:
“You can’t pour from an empty cup. Prioritize your own well-being. Therapy is for everyone—even the therapist.”
A Quiet Revolution in the Making
In a country where conversations around mental health have long been silenced or shrouded in stigma, Arushika Srivastava is changing the narrative—one affordable session at a time.
Her work reminds us that therapy isn’t just for crises. It’s for connection, for growth, for healing. Through Meet Your Therapist, she’s not only offering professional support but restoring dignity to those who’ve long felt invisible.
And in doing so, she’s creating more than a company. She’s building a bridge—between silence and support, shame and healing, despair and hope.
