Vietjet has officially introduced its “Startup Flight” program, a pioneering initiative designed to strengthen collaboration between India and Vietnam’s innovation ecosystems. The project aims to empower entrepreneurs working in cutting-edge sectors such as artificial intelligence (AI), education technology (EdTech), e-commerce, software, and smart logistics.
This initiative marks a unique effort where an airline steps beyond its role as a carrier to become a connector of ideas, investors, and entrepreneurial talent across two of Asia’s fastest-growing startup markets.
The program was launched in Ho Chi Minh City in the presence of policymakers, business leaders, and innovation experts from both countries. Vietjet has teamed up with Amity Innovation Incubator of India and Vietnam’s National Startup Support Centre to co-create the platform.
By doing so, the airline is not only leveraging its extensive route network but also positioning itself as a bridge for intellectual exchange and venture growth. The move reflects the rising importance of India and Vietnam as partners in technology and entrepreneurship.
Vietjet’s wide connectivity between India and Vietnam serves as the backbone of this initiative. The airline currently links major Indian cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kochi, and Ahmedabad with Vietnam’s leading economic hubs of Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City.
These cities are home to some of the region’s most vibrant startup ecosystems. By directly connecting them, “Startup Flight” ensures founders, mentors, and investors can collaborate more easily across borders.
The initiative zeroes in on four strategic areas that reflect current innovation trends and future opportunities:
AI and Data Solutions – Encouraging applications of machine learning, automation, and analytics.
EdTech – Supporting startups transforming learning and digital education.
E-commerce & Retail – Scaling platforms that drive online consumer experiences.
Transportation & Logistics – Building smarter supply chains and delivery systems.
By prioritizing these sectors, the program is aligning with industries that hold immense growth potential and global relevance.
The “Startup Flight” is open to both individuals and teams from India and Vietnam. Teams of up to three members can apply to join the program by submitting their ideas and business plans.
From these submissions, eight outstanding teams will be shortlisted—two from each focus sector. These teams will gain access to the “Startup Flight” journey, which includes mentoring, workshops, and networking sessions.
What sets this initiative apart is its strong emphasis on mentorship. Shortlisted participants will receive guidance from experienced entrepreneurs, investors, and industry leaders from both India and Vietnam.
The program also culminates in a final pitch event where participants will present their ideas directly to a panel of potential investors. This creates real opportunities for funding, partnerships, and market expansion.
