When Kaushik Prasad Dey earned just ₹1,500 a month as a logo designer in Kolkata, few could have guessed he’d one day walk the halls of IIT Roorkee and IIM Nagpur, without ever holding an engineering degree. Today, as the founder of Edu Creative Digication (OPC) Pvt. Ltd., Dey is on a mission to ensure that passion, not pedigree, defines opportunity.
Breaking Barriers Without a B.Tech
“Between 2005 and 2009, the sentence I heard most often was: ‘You’re not a B.Tech. Why are you even trying for the IT industry?’” Dey recalls.
Armed with only a B.Com degree, an insatiable curiosity, and a willingness to work for free just to learn, Dey started as a logo designer making barely enough to cover transportation. Some months, his salary never arrived. But his determination never wavered.
“I took up freelancing projects not for money, but for real learning,” he says. That drive eventually landed him a junior web designer role paying ₹8,000 a month, the first big leap of his career. From there, doors opened to roles at PwC, LearningMate, Cognizant, and Nest Innovative Solutions.
Over 17 years, he worked as everything from software engineer to skill development manager to business consultant. Despite lacking a formal software engineering degree, Dey’s passion became his credential.
After 15 years of proving himself in the industry, he fulfilled two long-held academic dreams:
- Post Graduate Certificate in Business Innovation from IIM Nagpur
- Post Graduate in Cloud Computing from IIT Roorkee

The Spark Behind Edu Creative Digication

The idea for Edu Creative Digication wasn’t born from a business plan — it was born from rejection.
“They told me, ‘You’re not eligible. You’re not from an engineering background.’ I walked out that day angry, not at them, but at a system that measures talent only by degrees,” Dey explains.
Years later, with global corporate experience and academic credentials, Dey was ready to give back.
“Coming from a rural part of Kolkata, I know what it feels like to lack access to quality learning, not because of talent, but because of financial and situational limitations. I promised myself that if I ever got the chance, I’d create a space where learning is truly industry-oriented, practical, and hands-on.”
That promise became Edu Creative Digication (OPC) Pvt. Ltd., a skills-first learning and IT solutions company designed to bridge the gap between academic education and real-world employability.
Closing the Gap Between Learning and Industry
Over nearly two decades in IT, Dey observed a persistent mismatch between classroom education and job market expectations.
“Most fresh graduates had theoretical knowledge but lacked the hands-on skills needed to deliver from day one,” he notes.
Edu Creative Digication’s Model:
- Industry-Oriented Learning Programs: Live, instructor-led classes in software development, cloud technologies, digital skills, and soft skills.
- Digital Solutions & SaaS Products: Custom applications, automation tools, and dashboards.
- Industry Partnership & Talent Solutions: Training talent on real client projects to ensure job readiness.
“We’re not just creating certifications, we’re creating careers.”
Challenges of Building from the Ground Up
Like many bootstrapped startups, Edu Creative Digication began with limited resources. Scaling without compromising quality was the biggest hurdle.
“Every rupee we earned was reinvested into better training programs, skilled trainers, and developing digital products for clients,” Dey shares.
Despite challenges, belief in the mission kept them moving forward. “Every student placed, every business helped, every skill transformed — that’s proof we’re on the right path.”
Milestones That Validated the Vision

- First Batch Success: Learners landed real jobs.
- Strategic Partnerships: Schools, colleges, and corporations recognized Edu Creative Digication as a partner, not just a vendor.
- Expansion: Moving into SaaS, automation, and full-scale digital solutions.
“We stopped thinking of ourselves as just an edtech company and started building an ecosystem where individuals can learn, businesses can grow, and technology bridges the gap.”
The Road Ahead: AI-Driven, Global, and Flexible
Looking forward, Dey envisions Edu Creative Digication as a global ecosystem for dynamic skill development.
- AI-Driven Digital Products: Adaptive training based on real-time market needs.
- Global Collaboration Platform: Learners and educators worldwide connecting on live projects.
- Flexible Growth: Scaling across industries and geographies without compromising on learner-first values.
“In five years, we want to be recognized as a leader in AI-driven, adaptive learning.”
