A lockdown reel led Awesh Bhornya to start Infinity Learning,a mission-driven platform to close the skill gap.
It was an ordinary, sweltering May afternoon in 2020. The world stood still in lockdown, uncertainty thick in the air. While most people were grappling with the realities of isolation, Awesh Bhornya stumbled upon a reel that changed the course of his life.
“It explained how easy it is to start a business,” Awesh recalls with a smile. “That simple moment sparked something in me.”
Armed with over a decade of teaching experience and a deep-rooted understanding of Information Technology and Analytics, Awesh didn’t just register a business. He launched a mission. Infinity Learning, founded in the thick of the pandemic, was born not out of desperation but from determination. He was resolved to close the glaring skill gap he had witnessed firsthand in his years as an educator.
With a degree in IT and an MBA in Information Technology, Awesh’s career began with a stint at Wipro, where he worked as a tech support engineer. However, his true calling lay elsewhere.
“For over 13 years, I trained more than 5,000 learners across academic and corporate environments,” he shares. “But I kept seeing the same problem. People had the degrees, but not the skills.”
As an educator, Awesh noticed a recurring theme. Students and professionals alike struggled with data literacy. The curriculum, though theoretically sound, rarely translated into job-ready skills.
“That disconnect is what I wanted to change,” he says.
Infinity Learning emerged as his answer. It is a practical, hands-on training platform that reimagines how analytics and data science are taught.
Unlike many educational ventures that focus on certifications and grades, Infinity Learning is unapologetically industry-first.
“We offer consulting and training in Data Analytics and Data Science, but with a twist,” Awesh explains. “Our learners don’t just ‘learn tools.’ They apply them.”
Think live dashboards, corporate-style simulations, and real-world case studies. This is the kind of training that bridges the gap between classroom knowledge and boardroom demands. It is this approach that has set Infinity Learning apart in a crowded ed-tech market.
“Our goal is simple. Make people industry-ready, not just exam-ready.”
The path to building a bootstrapped startup was anything but easy. With limited funds and no outside investment, Awesh had to wear multiple hats: founder, trainer, marketer, and even tech support. At one point, the journey took a toll on his health.
“I fell really sick. Physically and emotionally, it was draining,” he confesses. “But I leaned on my community, kept reminding myself why I started, and pushed forward.”
The breakthrough came when major organizations began to take notice. Tata Power, Zee Entertainment, RBI, and Western Railways were among the marquee names that gave Infinity Learning the validation it needed.
“When corporate and government organizations started trusting us, that changed everything,” Awesh says. “It wasn’t just about revenue. It was about credibility.”
While Infinity Learning has made impressive strides, Awesh is far from done. Over the next five years, he envisions the platform evolving into a premier skilling ecosystem for analytics and data science across India.
On a personal note, Awesh is chasing another milestone. He wants to become a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) in Excel, Power BI, and SQL.
“I want to keep learning, just like I want my students to. That’s how we grow,” he adds.
What makes Awesh’s story so compelling isn’t just his technical acumen. It’s his authenticity. He speaks candidly about the highs and lows and never shies away from admitting how tough entrepreneurship can be.
