Dinesh Kumar isn’t your typical startup founder. While Silicon Valley obsesses over code and crypto, Dinesh has quietly transformed one of India’s most overlooked, yet essential, services: laundry. From introducing the country’s first organized live laundry stores to building Sahyogg a fullstack platform empowering laundry entrepreneurs Dinesh has spent over a decade reimagining how India cleans its clothes.
“I’ve always been drawn to unorganized sectors with huge potential,” he shares. “Laundry, for a long time, was one of them. We’ve taken something informal and created an entire startup ecosystem around it.”
Roots in the Rinse Cycle: A Decade in Laundry Innovation
Dinesh’s journey began with UClean, India’s pioneering live laundry retail chain. “That was a breakthrough moment—not just for me, but for the industry,” he recalls. “We brought visibility, professionalism, and techdriven processes to something traditionally done behind closed doors.”

From there, he cofounded Mr. Blue, further refining the customer experience while optimizing backend operations. “It was always about building not just a service, but a scalable model,” says Dinesh.
Now with Sahyogg, his third venture, Dinesh is focused on democratizing the laundry business itself. “We help people build their own laundry setups—franchise stores, laundromats, even factories. We guide them with everything from sourcing machines to detergents, and we don’t charge for consultations. That’s unheard of in our industry.”\
The Spark Behind Sahyogg
The idea for Sahyogg wasn’t born in a boardroom, it emerged from groundlevel insights. While at UClean, Dinesh noticed a massive discrepancy: “We were getting thousands of franchise inquiries every year, but only a few hundred were converting. When I looked deeper, I found that many were trying to start laundry ventures on their own and struggling.”
These insights lit the fuse for Sahyogg, a platform that doesn’t just serve customers, but creates entrepreneurs. “That’s the real gap in this space: a lack of guidance and education. We’re filling that gap,” he says.
What Makes Sahyogg Different?
Sahyogg isn’t just another B2B supplier it’s a holistic ecosystem builder. The company offers:
- Industrialgrade machines and detergents
- Expert consultation and planning
- Franchise and factory setup guidance
- Ongoing mentorship and training
And all of it is backed by experience, not theory. “We’ve built hundreds of stores, learned what works, and now we’re using that to help others do the same,” says Dinesh. “We’re one of a kind because we care more about enabling others than maximizing profit.”
Hard Lessons & Human Wins
But building Sahyogg wasn’t without its hurdles. “Hiring the right team was a real challenge,” Dinesh admits. “I made mistakes by choosing people based on emotions rather than alignment with the business. I had to learn to prioritize systems and accountability.”
Another major challenge was his own approach. “Micromanagement was something I had to let go of. Delegating has made a huge difference.”
Despite the trials, the triumphs have been profound. Dinesh beams as he recalls one story: “A woman from a tier2 town in Chhattisgarh came to us for help. We trained her, helped her get a bank loan, and today she’s running a successful laundry business. Her story was selected by the Ministry, and she was invited by Prime Minister Modi himself. That was a moment I’ll never forget.”
Scaling Clean: Sahyogg’s Vision for the Future
For Dinesh, the future of Sahyogg is about scale with sustainability. “Laundry consumes a lot of water. If we’re going to grow, we have to do it responsibly,” he explains.
His fiveyear vision? Enable 500 entrepreneurs, roll out affordable laundromats nationwide, and position Sahyogg as the backbone of India’s laundry infrastructure.
“We want to make laundry accessible, affordable, and futureready,” he says. “And we want to do that by helping others succeed—not just by growing ourselves.”

Words of Wisdom for Aspiring Entrepreneurs
When asked what advice he has for the next wave of founders, Dinesh doesn’t hesitate: “Don’t chase trends. Chase problems. Find something broken, something ignored, and fix it with care. That’s where the real value is.”
He also emphasizes the importance of structure over spontaneity. “Ideas are just the beginning. Execution is everything. Build systems. Build people. And always, always stay close to your mission.”
