Metros of the Country Recorded Unchanged Petrol And Deisel Prices for 29th Consecutive Day

In all four metros, the prices remained unchanged for the 29th consecutive day on Sunday, August 15, 2021. On this Saturday, petrol prices were reduced in Chennai. However, other metro cities didn’t experience any change regarding the fuel rates.

 In the national capital, petrol prices were steady at ₹ 101.84 per litre and diesel rates were unchanged at ₹ 89.87 per litre. In Mumbai, petrol prices stood at ₹ 107.83 per litre, while diesel is retailed at Rs 97.45 per litre.

Among the metro cities in the country, petrol and diesel prices are recorded highest in Mumbai according to the state-run oil refiner. This is because the fuel prices vary across the country because of value-added tax (VAT).

Major players like Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum revise fuel rates on a daily basis, on the basis of international markets and the rupee-dollar exchange rates.

The changed rates are implemented from 6 am each day.
