“Mysuru Entrepreneur Helping Creators Become Entrepreneurs”

Empowering Indian creators to think beyond brand deals by building scalable businesses with systems, strategy, and storytelling.

From making reels in a UK dorm room to building a digital-first brand, Aashrith B Arun (The SoDopreneur) is helping Indian creators move beyond brand deals and build real, scalable businesses around their content.

In a college dorm in Bath, UK, far from the streets of Mysuru, India, Aashrith B Arun started filming Instagram reels out of boredom. What began as casual musings about startups and innovation would soon grow into The SoDopreneur, a brand helping Indian creators transform into entrepreneurs.

“I wasn’t just passionate about content,” Aashrith recalls. “I was obsessed with systems, storytelling, and making ideas work.”

Today, The SoDopreneur isn’t just a content brand. It’s a one-person setup where Aashrith works directly with creators and founders to simplify their brand, build systems around their content, and turn their knowledge into digital products using strategies that deliver results. The SoDopreneur challenges Indian content creators to think beyond brand deals and build businesses that last.

Engineering Roots, Entrepreneurial Spirit

Before launching his own venture, Aashrith had a solid corporate foundation. A Computer Science Engineering graduate from the National Institute of Engineering, Mysuru, he joined Deloitte and spent four years working on digital transformation projects for global clients.

But the corporate ladder wasn’t enough.

“Beyond the world of consulting, I’ve always loved storytelling and building systems. I wanted to help people turn ideas into tangible outcomes.”

Pursuing an MBA at the University of Bath gave him the strategic toolkit to match his creative drive.

“It deepened my understanding of brand, strategy, and innovation, lessons that still guide me every day.”

Spotting the Gap in India’s Creator Economy

While content creation in the West is often treated as a business, Aashrith noticed something different back home.

“Most Indian creators pour their hearts into content but hit a wall when it comes to monetisation,” he explains. “They rely on brand deals or ad revenue, both unstable, competitive, and accessible to only a small percentage of creators.”

Friends and fellow creators started asking him for advice on clarity, brand voice, and monetisation strategies. That’s when it clicked. The SoDopreneur could bridge this gap, blending a creator’s instinct with an entrepreneur’s discipline.

The SoDopreneur offers three core services:

  • Digital Products – including the flagship Content Identity Kit, a plug-and-play Notion system helping creators define their niche, brand voice, and strategy.
  • Creator Consulting – tailored coaching to help creators craft monetisation strategies, build offers, and set up content systems that actually convert.
  • Content Strategy for Founders – supporting startup founders to shape their personal brand and digital presence through strategic storytelling.

Challenges on the Solo Journey

Despite his clear vision, building The SoDopreneur wasn’t smooth sailing.

“One of my biggest challenges was figuring out how to merge my creative side with my business background,” Aashrith admits. “I didn’t want to fit into the typical ‘creator coach’ mould.”

Starting as a one-person brand with no viral breakthrough meant wearing every hat: scripting, editing, managing clients, and building products.

The Turning Point: From Content Experiment to Business

The defining moment for Aashrith came when The SoDopreneur shifted from a personal project to a real business.

“It started as me posting reels in my UK dorm room,” he recalls. “But when friends, creators, and founders began reaching out for advice, not just on content, but on monetisation and strategy, I realised this wasn’t just content. It was a service people needed.”

Vision for the Future: A Blueprint for Indian Creators

In the next five years, Aashrith envisions The SoDopreneur becoming a trusted space for creators who want to build real businesses around their content.

“I plan to expand into courses covering everything from niche clarity to monetisation systems. And The Creator Compound will be a private community for creators who treat this seriously, not just chasing likes and shares, but building income and identity through content.”

Lessons for Aspiring Entrepreneurs

Aashrith’s journey offers valuable insights for anyone building a startup or personal brand:

  • Lean into your unique strengths – Don’t try to fit into someone else’s mould; your edge is what makes you valuable.
  • Take imperfect action – You don’t need a massive following or viral moment to start. Launch small, test, refine.
  • Think beyond trends – Build systems and products that last longer than the algorithm.
  • Start creator-first – Every piece of content, product, or service should begin with the question: How does this help the end user?

Final Word: Building More Than Just Content
