Lenskart acquihires delivery start-up DailyJoy, opens tech centre in Hyderabad
Delhi-based eyewear start-up Lenskart, which entered the unicorn club last year has acquihired Hyderabad-based delivery start-up DailyJoy with an aim to boost its technology stack and its engineering capability.
- The Softbank-backed eyewear start-up will use to acquisition to enhance its tech and engineering talent.
- Lenskart is also looking to hire more than 100 engineers for its ‘tech hub’ in Hyderabad
- Although DailyJoy started off as a grocery delivery product, the acquisition is only focused on hiring its key team members
DailyJoy is a grocery and essentials delivery start-up that has operations in Tier 1/2 cities including Lucknow and Hyderabad. However, the acquisition by Lenskart is only centred around augmenting the company’s team strength and leveraging tech expertise.
The eyewear start-up is also looking to hire more than 100 engineers, especially for its Hyderabad hub which will house engineers in various teams across product, design and development, quality engineering, front end developers, java developers, Android and IOS developers, data science engineers.
