Atlan raised $16 million in a Series A and released Job Profiles for Team Expansion.

Data Collaboration Software Provider, Atlan on 25th March 2021, raised $16 million in a Series A seed funding round led by global venture capital and private equity firm, Insight Partners.

Investors like Sequoia Capital India’s Surge, Bob Muglia, former chief executive of Snowflake; Bob Moore and Jake Stien, founders of Stitch; Auren Hoffman, founder of Safegraph and Livermap; Akshay Kothari, Chief operating officer of Notion and Waterbridge Ventures also participated in the round.

The startup said it focuses on using the raised funds in the expansion of its team in order to strengthen its products, engineering and marketing in India. It also aims to double its team strength this year. 

After the seed funding round, Insight managing director Teddie Warlid will become a member of the board of directors of Atlan.

It developed a platform that allows big companies to merge flawlessly on data projects, and build a single source for all data assets.  It also flourishes tools like Slack, data warehouses like Snowflake, and Redshift, and also data science tools for effortless cooperation. 

“As the modern data stack turns out to be mainstream, a collaborative layer that acts as a variety of tools like Snowflake, Databricks, BI tools and artificial intelligence and machine learning applications, is turning to a necessity. Indeed, Atlan is becoming the way for a collaborative approach to the modern data stack.” Wardi said.

We will put intensely in developing our item and engineering group in India and invest wholeheartedly in spreading another wave of companies in India that are building to notch items from India for the rest of the world,” Varun Banka, Co-Founder, Atlan, said.

Atlan was currently titled as Gartner Cool Vendor 2020 in DataOps and became one of the top three companies globally to make it to the list

Atlan began with an internal project for a known firm, SocialCops and worked on more than 200 data projects, comprising India’s National Data Platform, DISHA. 

Company said in a statement that from emerging from scratch, it has succeeded rapidly. It recorded 16 times growth within the past two quarters. Presently, Atlan is used by teams at big companies and startups comprising Unilever, Postman and Delhivery.

  • Senior Frontend Engineer 

Experience required: Nil

Lead frontend team and work with the Engineering Team to design beautiful products and thoughtful interactions that make the experience of working with data seamless!  You will be a part of the company to design and optimize the performance of our products. Some of the company's users work with large data sets and have complex workflows that they manage with Atlan. You will be expected to prioritize user experience while building for scale. This job demands designing and developing products for diverse personas—data analysts in a large FMCG company, a data scientist working with a large fintech organization or a business user in a product startup. You need to collaborate across teams to achieve company-wide engineering goals and contribute to building a great engineering culture.

  • Content Lead

Experience required: Nil

Own key written content properties like our blog (Humans of Data) and content we write on Towards Data Science and other publications. You will work with internal and external writers to shape First Round quality in-depth stories and resources. High-level structural editing for articles, ebooks, guides, and other resources is required. Line editing for clarity and grammatical errors for all content we publish publicly. You will manage a team of freelance writers to help them plan, produce, and polish articles for our blog

  • Engineering Manager

Experience required: Nil

This will be unlike any tech team you know - we are building an engineering culture. The role that needs you to bring your leadership in helping us create more leaders. You’ll work very closely with our technical leadership and be responsible for managing sprints, delivery timelines, and stand-ups. You’ll act as a bridge between engineering, product, and business stakeholders across distributed teams. You’ll not shy away from getting your hands dirty and be actively contributing to the architecture and code base of the product. You are primarily responsible for helping the engineering team ship software that works as expected on schedule.

  • Lead- SEO and Content Lead

Experience required: 5+ years

The role is to build and execute the content & backlinking strategy to increase organic traffic, improve domain authority and page rankings, and generate top of the funnel demand to drive growth. Here you will create high-quality landing pages around relevant keywords and optimize them for conversion. You will have to monitor and analyze relevant keywords, recommend new keywords based on the latest industry trends and developments in the modern data ecosystem. It requires you to audit the website & content pieces regularly to identify opportunities to optimize, identify technical issues and roll out fixes. You will work cross-functionally with marketing, sales, customer success, and product teams to identify new keyword ideas, campaign opportunities, etc. 

  • Product Manager

Experience required: Nil

You will collaborate with the business team to understand business needs & users and translate them into actionable insights for the engineering team. Use product insights and enable the team to make effective day-to-day decisions. You need to identify issues, roadblocks, and opportunities by speaking regularly with users in this job. Understand user flows, take feedback from customers, conduct market research and align all these with the product roadmap. You’ll actively geek out relevant technologies in the data space— the person has to keep themselves updated on the trends in the data ecosystem.
