Manan Verma is a 20-year-old entrepreneur and author of multiple books from India. He wrote his first self-help book at 17, making him India's youngest self-help author. His new book ‘You Decide’ is #1 on Amazon in business, strategy and management category.

The beginning

Manan belongs to a business family and he has developed his interest in business since a very young age. He is starting companies since he was 15 and wrote his first book when he was just 16 years old. His previous start up Mind Soul Gain which is an online self-help education company has over 7000 students from around the world. He started that company while he was studying in school.

Manan shares, " I wrote my first book when I was 16, but I needed to publish it and when I went to the publishing agencies, I realized that they are charging a lot of money which could go as much as 20 thousand to 1 lakhs. I didn't have that much money to pay at such a young age. When I wrote my second book ‘Wait Late’, which got published in Feb 2019, then instead of approaching a publisher, I learned everything like checking the grammar, writing, marketing and all the things required for writing a book all by myself." That brought the cost down by 10 times. That’s when the need for a platform like Paper2Publish first showed up.

Challenges

After asking Manan about the challenges he faced, he says, "The initial challenge was working with studying, I did everything from interviewing people to making a team, on phone calls which took a lot of my time. So, I can say that the first challenge was tracking and scheduling my time. He added if you can manage your time then you can manage everything."

Motivation

Manan is a very practical person. He started with an idea and he executed it. On asking him about the things that keep him going, he mentions, "I believe that the biggest competitor of yours is you. You should always work to make yourself better than yesterday. That feeling of growth is my motivation. I compare myself to myself."

A word of advice

Manan believes in being happy. He tells, "In your journey, never forget to enjoy your life. Be happy always. Never let people's opinion affect you, never let people's judgement stop you. Keep moving, keep going. Compare you to yourself. See your growth. If you are better than yesterday, you are doing great and that is all you need. Just keep going and make the world a more magical place to live in.”
