Amit's career trajectory is anything but traditional. Despite earning a Chartered Accountant (CA) degree and an MBA in finance, his passion for health and wellness drew him into the healthcare sector. This unconventional path was fueled by his father’s unrealized dream of becoming a doctor and Amit’s desire to make a meaningful impact on people’s lives. His professional experience, ranging from scaling businesses at Healthifyme and MFine to his ventures in Nutrigenomics, paved the way for Qurex. 

Partnering with Shailja, who brought her own personal motivation after witnessing the impact of unresolved sexual dysfunction on a friend’s marriage, Amit found the perfect synergy. Together, they identified a glaring gap in sexual health care in India and set out to bridge it. 

Overcoming Challenges in a Stigmatized Sector 

Starting a sexual health company in India is not without its challenges. The stigma surrounding sexual health extends beyond patients to the founders themselves. One of the primary obstacles was establishing medical credibility. Amit and Shailja understood that building a legitimate, evidence-based solution required backing from reputable doctors, which they successfully achieved. Additionally, creating a Sexual Health Index (SHI) was a groundbreaking move that allowed Qurex to demonstrate measurable improvements in patients' treatment journeys. 

The team also faced hiring difficulties, as some candidates were reluctant to join a sexual wellness startup, often due to parental or societal pressures. Despite these hurdles, Qurex has built a strong, dedicated team that embraces the company’s bold vision of transforming sexual wellness in India.

 Innovative Solutions and Future Plans 

Qurex’s unique approach lies in its comprehensive treatment model. The company's Sexual Health Index (SHI) acts as a standardized metric to quantify and track sexual wellbeing, similar to how BMI is used for general health. But innovation doesn’t stop there. The team is also working on AI-driven interventions that will deliver personalized insights and evidence-based recommendations, ensuring that each patient receives care tailored to their specific needs. 

In the near future, Qurex plans to roll out Phase 2 and Phase 3 of their AI initiative. This will include personalized insights based on SHI scores, and ultimately, an AI-powered therapist offering automated, evidence-based guidance to patients.
