The Union Ministry of electronics and information technology is organizing challenge for Artificial Intelligence (AI) driven technology startups in India. The challenge is organized to promote and highlight the new AI solutions developed by entrepreneurs. Through this, entrepreneurs can now showcase their innovative solutions in various areas like healthcare, education, agriculture, and many more. The application would be invited on Innovate Platform of MyGov and promoted on MeitY Startup Hub and Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog and will be open for submission until 24th September. A jury of experts from industry, academia, and government would select fifteen best AI startups on 6th October 2020 and the top winners in each category will get cash awards of Rs 20lakh each.

MeitY is also organizing RAISE 2020 – Responsible AI for Social Empowerment 2020, which will be a  Global Summit on Artificial Intelligence. It would be held virtually from October 5-9, 2020. Experts from industry, academia, and the government from all across the world will be participating in this global summit, which will bring together all stakeholders on AI on one platform. The digital transformation has accelerated manifold because of the Covid-19 pandemic in the last few months this is why the challenge has come up.  The pandemic has shown us various points and among those one is the importance of technologies like AI to address healthcare crisis, restarting supply chains, enabling online education in every aspect of the economy. The event is planned in partnership with the industry. The government believes AI has the power to solve many societal challenges and be an enabler for inclusion.
