C2P Social Entrepreneurship Summit, Enactus Shri Ram College of Commerce

Enactus Shri Ram College of Commerce is a student-run not-for-profit organisation that creates social impact through the positive power of entrepreneurship. The Enactus chapter in SRCC is currently running 4 projects in the WASH, crafts, clean energy and waste management sectors. Through these undertakings, more than 42,000 people are impacted daily directly. 

Enactus SRCC successfully concluded its annual edition of the C2P Social Entrepreneurship Summit 2021. C2P Social Entrepreneurship Summit is a yearly endeavour that provides a shot to the next generation of smart, budding entrepreneurs to build the tomorrow we dream of.

This year, C2P: Social Entrepreneurship Summit 2021 had a cash prize pool of Rs. 1,10,000 and this year’s tagline was- ‘Bold Business for a Better World’.

The event was conducted in partnership with the Campus Community Partnership Foundation, an organisation that works towards fostering service learning and social entrepreneurship. The organisation is headquartered in Atlanta, USA and promotes partnerships between education and the community with a student-centred approach in learning, innovation and social responsibility.The event witnessed 700+ registrations. After 2 gruelling rounds, 10 teams made it to the online finals held on 5th July 2021. The online finals were judged by a panel of 4 highly qualified and experienced judges, who minutely analysed each of the 10 Business models presented. They not only decided the winners but also provided meaningful feedback to each team regarding their social business plan, which will ultimately help the teams to improve and build upon. 

The first judge was Mr Priyank Ahuja, a stalwart of the industry with 14 years of experience in projects in varied domains like Product Management, Management Consulting, Marketing Strategy, Digital Transformation, Pre-Sales, and Operations. He has been a part of Airtel, Siemens, Nokia, Vodafone, TCS, ZTE Corporation and he is currently working with Accenture as Product Manager.

The second judge was Ms. Surashree Rahane. Completing her B.tech from College of Engineering, Pune and MBA from the Faculty of Management Studies - University of Delhi, Surashree ma’am, is a knowledgeable, inspirational and self-motivated individual. She is the Founder and CEO at Yearbook Canvas- India's no.1 yearbook company. She has held positions of responsibilities in Sales at PepsiCo India and Thailand and HP education solutions for India, SriLanka and Bangladesh.

The third judge was Ms. Kashi Sehgal, an Ecosystem Builder, Entrepreneur and Innovator. She completed her education at the Georgia Institute of Technology. She is an accomplished individual who’s the Founder and CEO of Gigabark, Co-founder and Managing partner at Forethica, Co-founder and chair at Retaaza, Founder of SuperNova : Commencements and Executive Director at Campus Community Partnership Foundation. 

Mr. Ashish Kumar, the fourth judge is a techno-manager currently working with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) & has also worked for renowned companies like Accenture, Nokia, Jakson Solar & Su-Kam Solar. He is also a Mentor of Change for Atal Innovation Mission, an initiative by NITI Aayog (the think tank of the Government of India). He is also the proud recipient of the Karmaveer Chakra Award, Ashoka Award, Noble Citizen Award & over dozen of other awards for his initiatives towards empowering youth.

Team BackyardCreators emerged as the winners of the C2PSES 2021 after 3 rigorous rounds. They won a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 which will assist them in strengthening their noble initiative. Project Sugam were the first Runners up and earned Rs. 30,000 while Enactus Aryabhatta were the Second Runners up and earned Rs. 20,000.

This event would not have been possible without the enthusiastic participation by all the teams, the judges whose time, knowledge and experience made it possible to reward the young entrepreneurs for their creative efforts.

Enactus SRCC has left no stone unturned to create a positive impact on the planet. We started with C2P SES with a head for business and a heart for the world, to impact millions across the world and we, do not stop here!
