In Winter 2021 Cohort, organised by Y Conbinator , Zoko raised $1.4 million in seed funding

Social media is the new version of “word of mouth” and it’s what people mean when they say a post went “viral”. The startup, Zoko, founded by two schoolmates of a small town of Kerala, Arjun Paul and Aromal Sivadasan in October 2018 also went viral and created buzz in the past months.

Recently, the startup raised $1.4 million (around Rs. 10.2 crore) in venture capital from Y Combinator, Flipkart Co-founder Binny Bansal’s family office, and angel funders Ryan Hoover through Weekend Fund and 021 Capital Fund, baked by Binny Bansal and few other people. The motive behind the startup is to curtail the complexity of conducting sales, marketing and customer support on the Facebook owned messaging platform WhatsApp, for all online merchants.

Y Combinator has given wings to over 3000 startups providing an overall amount of $300 billion, since 2005. This year, it had 16000 applicants for the Winter 2021 cohort. Zoko became one of the 300 startups to be funded by Y Combinator this year. 

As stated by the startup, it will invest this funding to ameliorate and enlarge the engineering services, as well as grow training content in various languages. It will enlarge their customer reach. It will aim to develop the platform integration services. It wants to expand their services at global level.

Its centre of attraction is pace so that companies can perform and gain more in less span of time. It stated that it has multiplied its growth two times every 90 days, since the time it attained its first dollar in revenue.
